What is your 'I'? Which part of you is the real definition of you? Which part of you is aware of the changes that happen to you? Which part of you is conscious enough to acknowledge its pure presence? We all put on masks in one way or another. We put them on in front of strangers, acquaintances, family and friends. We even put them on in front of ourselves. Some masks are meant to hide our demons, some masks are meant to hide our fears, some masks we wear as a wall behind which to hide our sadness, some masks we put on to try and make ourselves feel whole again. We try to control how we feel and think, we try to control how the world perceives us. Some of us try to be accepted, some of us try to stand out and be rejected. So many masks, so many ways to hide the 'I'. But once again I'm asking you: who is the real you? Can you still feel that special, unique and pure part that makes you - you. Which part of you is aware of the mask you are wearing? . Idea: Sofiya Belousova and Elena Makarova Photo: Elena Makarova Model: Sofiya Belousova Retouch: Sofiya Belousova
The thoughts that are constantly staying with you right in the back of your head, pulling you deep to the darkest corners of your mind. These thoughts are able to drown you making you feel paralysed to the point where you can't even use the key to your own happiness. So let us confront our own fears and haunting thoughts. Let us remember that we are the masters of our mind and there is never a point in life in which we can't say 'That's enough. Now it's time for me to feel happy.' and then use that key.
Meeting of Sexuality and Mortality - it is the meeting of the beginning and the end of a life. The meeting of the two taboos of which one does not speak. This meeting takes place under the one-eyed moon, only this moon is the witness to the existence of both of them. These two seem like very different concepts but in fact they could not be closer. Both are natural processes of human existence, and both are forbidden topics in today's society. However the denial of truth, that everything has a beginning and an end, is the reason that most people do not realise that life is only a fleeting moment between where the beginning and end meet. One doesn't have long while this meeting lasts. Make your life matter. Make your life mean something.
